Cleaner MM31 creates a chromium-3 based protective conversion layer, which is formed on the metal by a chemical reaction with Cleaner MM31, whereby the metal itself contributes to the formation of the layer. This layer provides a more uniform metal surface.

Primecoat offers superoir performance in formability, deep drawing,post paint ability as well as extented corrosion protection.PrimeCoat Z908 VH is a water-based functional chemical passivation purposely developed to improve corrosion resistance of galvanised steel and other zinc based alloys. Additional properties of the PrimeCoat Z908 VH are: reduction of the friction of the metal surface in forming operations and improved bonding properties. PrimeCoat Z908 VH is based on phosphates and silane oligomer chemistry and does not contain hexavalent chromium Cr(VI) or other form of the element chromium. PrimeCoat Z908 VH can replace traditional chromium based passivations. Typical galvanized steel surfaces that will have advantage of the PrimeCoat Z908 VH coating are: standard zinc, electrogalvanized zinc, Galvalume®, Galvannealed, magnesium-aluminium-zinc alloys, Alusi® and Galfan®. Metal coated with PrimeCoat Z908 VH is combining excellent tribological, post-painting and adhesive bonding properties on the metal coatings mentioned above.Application preferably on zinc-coated steel and zinc-alloy-coated steel strip. PrimeCoat Z908 VH should be applied homogeneously on clean and dry strip metal. Oiled metal substrate should be cleaned by a mild alkaline cleaner first. In a continuous strip process the most preferred roll-coat method is a chem-coater. Flood or spray– squeeze can be used to apply a wet-film of an accurate thickness as well. Drying is sufficient when all water has evaporated fast and the coating has a ‘dry-touch’ immediately after the drying section (oven). A wet film thickness of 1 - 4 micron requires a peak metal temperature of at least T> 40°C to evaporate the water quickly. Recommended strip temperature after drying is 40 – 100°C. The coating should not be rinsed or quenched with water after drying
